Burned Red Tomato Salsa

This is a basic recipe for a warm red walsa
6 tomatoes, paste variety
¼ onion
¼ C cilantro
1 clove garlic
pepper, jalapeno to taste ((2 perhaps - serrano or cayenne may be replacement))
½ tsp salt
1 C water


Instructions

  1. Grill tomatoes and chilies. Tomatoes need to cook the entire way through - about 15 minutes - and the skins will burn. That's good - the char adds flavor.

  2. Rinse skin off of chilies.

  3. Add chilies, garlic, onion, cilantro, salt, water, and tomatoes into blender - if the burned spots are large and thick on tomatoes, it's OK to remove some.

  4. Blend until well mixed
